Animation Production Day (APD) will be held on 26th and 27th April 2018 as a part of the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and the FMX, International Conference on Animation, Effects, VR, Games and Immersive Media.
APD is the most important business platform for animation projects in Germany and representatives from the German and international animation industry will gather for the showcased projects. APD brings together around 150 producers, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, funding bodies and banks in a series of pre-planned, one-to-one meetings. Around one third of the projects showcased APD 2017 have been successfully produced already.
You can register from the link below. Animation projects in the areas of film, TV series, mobile content, games, crossmedia and transmedia can all be submitted until 20th February 2018 and a total of 40-45 projects will be selected for APD 2018.

Studios and service producers, distributors, broadcasters, sales agents and funding bodies can register for participation in APD 2018. Early-bird price ticket is available until 30th January 2018.
Trickstar Business Award
‘Trickstar Business Award’ was newly launched in 2017. The prize, worth €7,500, is being presented for the second time by ITFS as part of APD. Each project selected for APD qualifies for the award nominations automatically. It is advised to complete the Trickstar Business Award form before applying for APD. In this way, you can have a chance to be nominated for the Trickstar Business Award even if you are not selected for APD.
It recognizes German or international innovative and ground-breaking business models for projects or companies in the animation industry. This makes the Trickstar Business Award the world’s first animation prize to focus on business. The prize is being sponsored by the Stuttgart Region.
If you want to apply only for the award without submitting to APD, please check the page on the official ITFS website linked below. The projects can be designed as TV series, feature films, games, mobile content or transmedia formats.
