The third season of Bungo Stray Dogs has started airing from 12th April 2019. It is a popular TV animation series based on a manga series of the same title written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by 35 (Sango) Harukawa. The original manga series sold more 7 million copies by the end of March 2019.
It is a fantasy story with fictional characters who share the same names as great, famous Japanese novelists. They can use supernatural powers and each power has a name, which is the same as a title from each of the great Japanese novelist’s works. The main story of the series follows incidents, events and accidents around the members of “Busou Tantei Sha (English: Armed Detective Agency)”, which include dangerous battles with antisocial organizations such as a mafia named “Port Mafia” and a big and very rich group of supernatural powers holders in North America named “Guild”.
The core members of the Armed Detective Agency are Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, Doppo Kunikida, Ranpo Edogawa, Junichirou Tanizaki, Kenji Miyazawa, Akiko Yosano, Yukichi Fukuzawa, Kyouka Izumi and Katai Tayama.
Synopsis of the third season
The huge psychic war against “Guild”, which came to attack Yokohama from the continent, was ended after Atsushi Nakajima and Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the white tiger and the black beast, jointly battled against Francis F, the leader of Guild, and won the decisive battle.
The towns in Yokohama city, which was saved by “Armed Detective Agency” and “Port Mafia” from the risk of catastrophic destruction, is telling stories of people’s ordinary daily lives on roadsides across the towns under the truce between “Armed Detective Agency” and “Port Mafia”.
However, in Yokohama city, there is a rumor that a foreign criminal organization is inflowing and shadows of the remnants of Guild come and go…
On the other hand, Osamu Dazai was concerned about the awakening of the “Majin” (English: a demon or an evil person) and the beginning of a new disaster.
What is active in culverts under the Yokohama is Fyodor D, the head of a band of thieves named “The Rats in the House of the Dead”. His horrible intrigue finally shows its fangs!
